Standards and Professional Affiliations

The efforts and insights of our researchers reach far beyond individual clients. They move our industry forward.

In FY07 alone, experts in our Applied Research group submitted 59 invention disclosures, and Telcordia filed 42 utility patent applications and 39 provisional applications based on FY07 Applied Research developments. In that one-year span, our researchers also published 95 books, chapters, and papers, submitted another 26 for publication, and delivered 71 presentations.

Among our greatest contributions, however, are the leadership roles we are continually asked to play on academic and government advisory boards and virtually all of the industry's major standards bodies and professional societies. Most recently, Dr. Adam Drobot, our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and President of our Advanced Technology Solutions business unit was appointed by Ray LaHood, United States Secretary of Transportation, to serve on the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Program Advisory Committee (ITSPAC).
